This article is about the character Lady Friday. For the book see Lady Friday (Book).

Lady Friday was one of the Seven Trustees of the Architect and the Wielder of the Fifth Key. She was also Mistress of the Middle House. She is afflicted with the deadly sin of Lust. Lady Friday was presumably killed by Dame Primus.

Appearance

Lady Friday is tall, and very beautiful. In her first appearance she is described as wearing stiletto-heeled boots that are set with rubies. Her robes are gold, and she has a hat studded with glass or diamonds, which causes the hat to reflect. Her wings are large, stretching out to ten feet on either side, and bright yellow.

Domain and Key

Lady Friday's Key takes the shape of a handheld mirror that can steal people's experiences and can teleport anyone to another reflective object anywhere in the House, Incomparable Gardens or Secondary Realms.

Friday's domain is the Middle House, located between the Lower House and Upper House. The Middle House is shaped like a large mountain, with several enormous ledges and multiple skies to simulate different times during the day. Lady Friday's Scriptorium is at the top. A canal runs through the Middle House, which is used to move records around. Anything that enters the canal which isn't written on is pulled to the bottom, including people. This means that denizens who work on the canal all wear clothes with writing on. The Middle House is focused primarily on gilding and enhancing records. It is guarded by the Winged Servants of the Night, under Friday's Dusk, and the Gilded Youths, under Friday's Dawn. As of the fifth book, the weather of the Middle House was broken causing eternal winter and large snowstorms in the lower areas. This will most likely be changed by the New Architect.

Death

Lady Friday died when Dame Primus killed her. She was (with the exception of Sunday and Saturday) the last trustee to die.
